Greetings!

The 'Cousins' remember the reunions at Grandma and Granddad Hopkins' house in Chickasha....oooh A LONG time ago! Anybody remember what years those took place? The Cousin picture on the blog is from one of those times.

We are long overdue to gather as a clan....there are Aunts, Uncles, 2nd cousins, kids, grandkids, GREAT grandkids (great, great grandkids?) that many of us have never met!

This reunion is important on so many levels. It offers us a way to see who we've become as a family that began with two people...George and Jo Hopkins. Now we are spread out all over the place, come in all shapes, sizes, ages and our unique expression of who we are as individuals.

By gathering again and discovering each other we are investing in the legacy of who we are as a family. Our children, their children and on and on will look at pictures and remember the stories of the past. This links us all together...our ancestors and those that continue 10, 20, 30 and more years from now.

It is important to come! If you want to come and your resources are limited, please let me know. We're figuring out ways to make sure that those that want to come CAN come. Peg Hopkins

P.S.  In the upper right hand corner it says "New Post"...that's where you can write something for this blog.  Let's start talkin'!

Hi, Everyone!

My name is Nicholas Taylor. My Dad is Paul Taylor. His Dad is Bill Taylor. His Mom is Mary Jane Hopkins Taylor. Her parents are George and Josephine Hopkins. They were my great-great grandparents. My dad says Josephine used to make really good cookies with Vanilla Wafers and frosting.

I enjoy learning about my family and genealogy. I have not met many of my cousins on the Taylor (Hopkins) side of the family. I will stop in McPherson this summer during our trip to Utah in August. I hope me and my Dad will come to Chickasha for the reunion!

Links to Family Tree

It takes time for the link to open so please be patient. Once on the page you may need to expand the view...in some cases as much as 800%. These are large files. The first link titled FAMILY TREE takes you to one family tree. This one only shows the descendants of George and Jo and has small photos of family members. This is why we need your photo!. The second link titled FAMILY TREE EXPANDED OPTIONS takes you to the webpage with different genealogy trees, photos and more in depth look at surnames etc. Thanks to Donna for making this possible!

A GREEN reunion

The planning committee is also looking at ways to make our reunion as Green as possible. Recycling? Of course! Composting? Yes, everything organic will go to the garden! We're figuring out ways to minimize throw-aways and re-use as much as we can. Your ideas appreciated! And we need someone to be the King or Queen of the GREEN on site. You'll have lots of help...let us know if being Green calls to you. Peg
